Simphiwe Shazi (CEO)

Simphiwe Shazi is registered with the South African Council for Project and construction Management Profession (SACPCMP) as a PrCPM. He is a former SACPCMP approved investigator and served as a member in the tribunal committee.

Nicolas Verrier - Grinaker Power

Nicolas Verrier holds an Engineering and MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the French Institute of Advanced Mechanics (I.F.M.A.). He began his career in 2008 at Alstom, working as an engineer in the power generation industry.

Simphiwe Shazi
CEO

Simphiwe Shazi is registered with the South African Council for Project and construction Management Profession (SACPCMP) as a PrCPM. He is a former SACPCMP approved investigator and served as a member in the tribunal committee.

His experience spans over 28 years within project management, specializing in turnkey solutions within the Built Environment. He studied as an Electrical Engineer and undertook Post Graduate qualifications in Project Management from UNISA – School of Business Leaders (SBL) and Business Management from University of Kwa-Zulu Natal – Graduate School of Business (GSB). He further studied towards a Master of Commerce in Leadership Studies (MCLS) degree at UKZN GSB & L (in progress).

Simphiwe has held Senior Management positions at Eskom, MAN Ferrostaal and Siemens before embarking in Business within the construction industry. He is passionate about delivery of projects and infrastructure development.

Nicolas Verrier
Head of Grinaker Power

Nicolas Verrier holds an Engineering and MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the French Institute of Advanced Mechanics (I.F.M.A.). He began his career in 2008 at Alstom, working as an engineer in the power generation industry.

In 2012, Nicolas relocated to South Africa to oversee aspects of Alstom’s work on the Medupi and Kusile power stations—Africa’s two largest coal-fired power projects. Since then, he has been actively involved in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects across multiple sectors and under a variety of contract forms, including FIDIC, NEC, FCC, and bespoke agreements.

Nicolas is proficient in project finance, contract and risk management, and has developed strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills over the years. He currently leads all EPC operations within the company and has recently assumed leadership of Grinaker Power, driving the company’s expansion in the energy infrastructure space.

Head of Finance

Nandala Maggy Masilela is a mother, wife and financial personnel who has 19 years’ experience in the construction industry, 12 years of site cost management and 7 years within the financial department, Maggy holds a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance with immense success in financial reporting, strategizing and implementation to ease the processes and workflows.

Maggy takes pride in work ethic, whether in her personal life, or professional commitments, Maggy approaches every task with determination and dedication and not afraid of challenges—in fact, She welcomes them as opportunities to learn and grow. Maggy believes that hard work, paired with a positive attitude and a willingness to keep improving, leads to lasting success.

In all areas of life, Maggy brings energy, warmth, and enthusiasm with a belief that a positive outlook, combined with a caring heart and strong mind, can make a powerful difference in the world.
