Harnessing Wind, Empowering Communities
Grinaker contributed to the delivery of one of South Africa’s largest wind energy projects—the Gouda Wind Farm in the Western Cape. The project comprises 46 concrete-tower turbines generating 138MW of clean energy, enough to power approximately 200,000 homes annually. As the first wind farm in the country to use locally manufactured concrete towers, it set a precedent for innovation and local economic participation. The facility significantly reduces carbon emissions and supports South Africa’s transition to renewable energy.
